Types of VHF Radio Calls

There are five types of call within the VHF radio syllabus that you have to learn.

These are:

• Routine Calls
• Urgency Calls – or PAN PAN
• Emergency Calls – or MAYDAY
• Emergency Message Forwarding – or MAYDAY Relay

Each one of these is explained in the following topics with examples.
